Did You Know! that a racehorse is one animal that can take thousands of people for a ride at the same time.

There is something about the outside of a horse,
that is good for the inside of a man.

M-M - here is another Winston Churchill :

Many a young man has been ruined by horses through backing 'em, but never by riding 'em, unless they break their neck, which, taken at the gallop, is a very good death to die.

In the Bible in the Book of Job there is a great bit about the war horse...'he hear-th the trumpets and says ha ha'..... or something - if anyone's got the good book to hand it's a nice quote. The Koran also has some great horse quotes. If anyone has one to hand...

'Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy or beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle, and strength by gentleness confined. He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent; there is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.'

This is the great bit about the "War Horse", that the old mare has mentioned in the Bible, this is for the people that don't have the Good Book at hand.

The War Horse
"Have you given the horse strength?
Have you clothed his neck with thunder?
Can you frighten him like a locust?
His majestic snorting strikes terror,
He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;
He gallops into the clash of arms.
He mocks at fear, and is not frightened;
Nor does he turn back from the sword.
The quiver rattles against him,
The glittering spear and javelin.
He devours the distance with fierceness and rage;
Nor does he halt because the trumpet has sounded.
At the blast of the trumpet he says, 'Aha!'
He smells the battle from afar.
The thunder of captains shouting."
( Job 39:19-25)

When I bestride him I soar, I am a hawk.
He trots the air, the earth sings when he touches it;
The basest horn of his hoof is more musical
Than the pipe of Hermes.

Again the early-morning sun was generous with its warmth. All the sounds dear to a horseman were around me - the snort of the horses as they cleared their throats, the gentle swish of their tails, the tinkle of irons as we flung the saddles over their backs - little sounds of no importance, but they stay in the unconscious library of memory.

oh, they do, how they do...that's a great quote

and I found a quote from the Prophet Mohammed, in the book - A World of Horses pub Kurt Bluchel 1981.
"Thou shalt be a source of wealth and happiness for Man..."
and, via this book,
from the Koran
"When God created the horse, he spoke to the magnificent creature: I have made thee without equal. All the treasures of this earth lie between thy eyes."

it's good to see that the horse was created by God,
and was'nt a part of the BIG BANG theory!

How could a beautiful creature such as the horse or any other animal come by chance.

I think God spoke and, BANG!!!!!!! it happened.
